the girl you buy your coffee from in the morning…

November 7, 2010

Congratulations Ceetar on a terrific Mets blog.   We read the post titled The Mets Read Your Blog, and found it well written and right on the mark. And yes, we agree,  we are that next bridge to the masses of Mets fans.

Ceetar is a frequent commenter (who has escaped moderation — unlike us!) over on MetsBlog.

We feel much like we did in 1980, when the Commissioners Office strongly suggested the Mets take a look at Frank Cashen.  It’s nice to know the grownups are back in charge.  Thanks again for a great post and Lets Go Mets!

Incidentally, ceetar had a great line we swiped to use as our headline on this story:

The casual/mainstream fan base is out there, not on Twitter and not blogging, but they’re out there in the world. They’re coworkers, friends, family, the UPS guy, and the girl you buy your coffee from in the morning. They don’t always follow closely.  They may not read the papers to stay up to date on the Mets transactions. They don’t get text messages that read “Mets got Johan!”  Their number one source of Mets news is you and me.

Haha, I think I am still in moderation too! And my UPS guy is a Yankee fan, so no hope there. But that was a great piece.
You think Sandy = Cashen? too soon to tell.

My UPS guy is also NYY. And he is usually a jerk, too. God, what a Jeter-lover. And the guy I get coffee from is from India and follows cricket, whatever. But the point I like is it seems like the front office is starting to actual;y get it.
That would be a nice switch.
But it always seems positif in Novemebr.
